The Top Management Decision Simulation is an early “serious game”. It’s a computer assisted game that’s used to train managers for decision making. The game models idealized business transactions. It was featured in the AMA Management Development Seminar and the Executive Decision Making Program.
This was the first management decision-making and the first non-military business game. In the game five teams of players operated firms competing in a hypothetical, one-product industry. Teams made quarterly decisions covering price, production volume, budgets, research and development, advertising, and sales force and could request selected marketing research information.
